Lost & Found

I am currently working demolition at KTH (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan) and today we cleaned out some old storage facilities to be able to tear down the roof. Found some intresting stuff..

"Krutis Nosecleaner - a just as pleasant as natural 'must' for everyone, especially the ones who suffers from dry mucous membrane, allergies, filthy work conditions or dirty air."
Looks erm.. awesome? Click on the picture to enlarge.

Found this pack of fags in a box with some old Cohibas. I love this pack because it is fuckin rock and roll (skulls always are) and that they got the name of them just right. Also, the skull details on the fags are mint. From Holland.
Click on the picture to enlarge.

This is a skull, that is also a candle. Roughly the same size as my own skull. And as previously stated, skulls are awesome.

Beautiful Losers

This movie was released in 2008, but I saw it just the other day. It might be one of the most inspiring movies I've seen and you should definitely see it.

"In the early 1990s a loose-knit fo like-minded outsiders found a common ground and began creating art rooted in the DIY subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hiphop and graffiti".

Featuring artists like Ed Tempelton, Harmony Korine, Mike Mills, Jo Jackson and Margaret Kilgallen. Off the hook.

The Merry Wives of Windsor

A few days back Malin got her hands on two tickets to the play The Merry Wives of Windsor by Shakespeare at Dramaten here in Stockholm. It was my first visit to the 100 year old theatre and we got the best seats available and it was pretty awesome. Really beautiful theatre, funny play with decent actors. The play was about 3 and a half hours long and I was pretty tired at the end of it but overall it was a nice and cultural experience. Many thanks to Malin for inviting me!

Working

First week at Odenplan construction site done. It's been fun but kind of hard. Not used to get up at 5.30AM and crack concrete with a jackhammer. But it feels real good to do something again.
Good job, good people.

Sthlm in my heart

Been afk for a wee(k) while due to alcholic intoxication together with Robbie, Alex, Maria, Doka amongst others and it was ace.
Two days at Maria's sommerplace with crayfish, fishing, rancid fish, schnaps and pure fun. Cheers for Junior for giving me a busride, the nice old couple and the guys on the way to Blekinge for the hitchike. And thanks to Maria and her friends for a really nice time in Harifjärden(?).
After Maria, me and Alex went up to Söderhamn for BBQ-Battle and Doka gig. Awesome skate, good times with mates and massive drunkness at gig and such. Then on sunday we continued to my parents for food and to gather my stuff and jumped on a bus to Stockholm seeing as Chrille phoned me while being at Marias and told me to be on the construction site on tuesday (today) morning.
So now I am in bed at my brothers after the first day back at tearing shit down. It was good, and I going to get my self some money again. Sore and tired tho. Going up at 5.30am after a couple of months sleeping til noon at my parents takes its toll. Still definitely worth it.

Need a cable for my camera and then I can start posting intresting stuff. Well, as the camera is shit, its going to be intresting to see what is on it.

SHAMN BBQ Battle

This weekend is the shit my friends. The annual skateboard competition Söderhamn BBQ Battle is on its 8 year and with skaters such as Jean-Marc Soulet and Mika Edin it is gonna be off the hook. You should all come, it's gonna be hardcore skateboarding, live acts (my dear friends Doka amongst others) and of course shitloads of beef BBQ style.

White Line Fever

I'm currently reading White Line Fever by the awesome Lemmy Kilmister. I'm halfway through it now and I got to say that it is highly entertaining.
Sure, loads and loads of names I never heard of and bands I never listened too but I guess that if you have been in the game as long as this man, you have met and played with quite a few of people and bands.
The book contains loads of music (read rock & roll) trivia, humorous and serious, sometimes sad, anecdotes from a life filled with sex, drugs and mayhem. The writing/telling sometimes feel quite unfocused and drifting, sometimes juvenile but all together highly entertaining.

Even if your not into Motörhead or even R&R, the book is pretty much a must-read.

A wee part from the book, loosely translated from swedish;

"Fact is, I don't recommend anyone my lifestyle - most people would die from it. No joke. [...] In 1980 I decided to change my blood - the same treatment that Keith Richard are roumored to gone through. It's a smart thing to do - you immediatley get new, fresh blood and the body doesnt have to go through the pain of detox. So my managare and I went to the doctor, that took some blood test and came back with bad news.
'This is how it is', he said. 'You are going to die if we give you fresh blood.'
'Wha?'
'You no longer have human blood. And you can't give blood either, just forget it. Your blood is so toxic that normal people would die from it.'
So to clarify: what is normal for me is deadly to other people and whats normal for others is deadly to me. Which is fine by me, I guess I'm writing medical history. I'm gonna give my body to science fiction."

This section, funny as it is, reminded me about a story of a mate of mine, the same one that thought he was at home when he took a piss in the bed. He went to do a good deed and give blood but he ended up getting admitted to recive blood instead.. Amazing.

Anyways, go and get yourself a copy of this epic insight in the life of a legend.

[EDIT 17 - AUG - 2009 22.10]
Ok, I finished the book today and in hindsight I must say that I might have made it sound a bit better than it actually is. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining and all, but the unfocused-ness of it made it feel like it was written in a haste, and just after a transcript of a interview. I'm sad to say that I enjoyed the first half of it more than the second. I was hopeing for more alcohol/sex related anecdotes actually. Janiss Garza (co-writer) is not Neil Strauss. Still, it is worth reading if you are into the music. If you like Britney Spears and the rest of MTV nowdays, don't bother.

Just wanted to direct your attention towards a dear friend of mine, the beautiful Hanna Viktorsson, that currently resides in London. She is an amazing illustrator/graphic designer and has just launched yet another blog called A Drawing A Day. Check it out and don't forget to bookmark it.

Romka Magazine

Just wanted to tell you to check this out.

Romka is a magazine for amateurs, students aswell as professionals. The idea is for people to submit their favourite photos, not necessarily from their portfolios but also private pictures, snapshots etc. Just your favourite pictures.

So far Romka has 3 issues out that you can download as pdf-files from their website, Romka Magazine.
I really enjoy this magazine with the variety of photos, photographers and styles. I reckon that everyone that's into photography will enjoy this. And send in your own pictures.

"This is not about self-portrayal, not about technical perfection or fancy topics. This is not about style."
